We have already received quite a few laptops and a large number of commitments have been made. The planning is now to ship the first batch to Cambodia in September, but of course money is needed for that. For refurbishing and repairing equipment and emptying hard drives. But also for actual transport to Cambodia.
The situation in Siem Reap has become dire. This region is completely dependent on tourism. The enormous temple complex of Angkor Wat (UNESCO World Heritage) is the main attraction of this region. However, tourism has come to a complete standstill as a result of the pandemic. No tourists means no income for the people of Siem Reap. The population was thrown back in time.
Smiles of Hope is committed to helping talented youth in this region reverse this hopelessness. By enabling study and by coaching them in finding work that is promising. We do this by making technology and training available. With the help of local initiatives and concrete help on the spot. Will you help us achieve our goals? Then donate. One-time donations are also very welcome.
The Smiles of Hope Foundation is a Public Benefit Organisation (PBO) . Donations are therefore tax-deductible.
